I posted a blog (see archive) recently with a photo of two muddy boys who had just returned to shore from an afternoon of belly surfing on the Bay of Fundy mud at Evangeline Beach.
Since then, I've learned that a mud bath is not something that's confined to the younger set.

Earlier this summer, several hundred runners, both young and old, competed in the annual Not Since Moses run at Lower Five Islands.

Adults too have found ways to get down and dirty on the muddy Bay of Fundy shores.

Earlier this summer, several hundred runners, both young and old, competed in the annual Not Since Moses run at Lower Five Islands.
They ran two courses, one 5 km and the other 10 km from the mainland to and around the Five Islands that lie about a kilometer offshore.
The course took them through water that at times was waist deep; over rock, pebbles, sand and yes! mud.
But the muddy caper reached a peak a few days ago when I photographed Olympic Gold Medalist Yang Yang of China slithering down the slippery bank of the Shubenacadie River where she had gone to ride the tidal bore.
Yang Yang, who captured an Olympic gold medal in short track speedskating at the last winter Olympics, was visiting Nova Scotia where she will return in November to participate in the torch relay for the Vancouver Winter Olympics by carrying the flame through the streets of Port Hawkesbury.
Have a look at her first fling in the Shubenacadie mud and give her full marks because she's not able to swim a stroke.

WARNING: Don't try this at home!
Well done. I hope to attend this event next year.
Nice pics..
