Hello Music Fans!

By way of introduction, Music Nova Scotia is a non-profit resource for musicians, music industry members and music fans.  To find out more about what we offer, go to www.musicnovascotia.ca or read our AGM report that just came out mid-June.

As for me, I'm a Nova Scotian-born music junkie and can share with you my local music experiences back to when I was 15, going to see jale and Thrush Hermit.  Now I'm working with the best in the biz and I have lots of fun information to share with you!

As for news, we're busy organizing Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week, which is a four-day event November 4-7 in Yarmouth this year, featuring all Nova Scotian artists - more than 60 performances and a Gala Awards Show!  You can find out more info at www.musicnovascotia.ca/nsmw and all tickets are for sale through www.ticketpro.ca.

We've had soJenn Grant.jpgme amazing new releases come out in the last little while - loving the new David Myles (singer-songwriter), Ashley Condon (singer-songwriter), Chrissy Crowley (celtic), The Stanfields (celtic-rock) and The Town Heroes (rock) - see all of them on our Current Release page with links on where to buy.

The buzz around the office is that Ryan MacGrath's new album will be out soon, and Jenn Grant just finished recording her third!

There's a wonderful new product from one of our members that basically gives you a musical tour of Cape Breton Island, matching up with your GPS.  Check it out here: http://www.askgpstours.com.

If you're in Halifax, we have a weekly Songs and Stories Open Mic at the Carleton Music Bar and Grill at 1685 Argyle St. every Saturday 1-4. It's a great matinee to hear singer-songwriters with a feature performer at 3 p.m. - all for free. Past feature artists have included Charlie A'Court, Christina Martin and Carleton Stone.  You can even sit on the sunny patio and listen to the live music outside!

Carleton patio.JPGWe have daily news from all of our 1236 Music Nova Scotia members - you can have it sent directly to your email box by signing up at www.musicnovascotia.ca.

That's just the basics...more exciting news to come!
